The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Jakarta has shared news about the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS/KGSP) for 2026. This Korean Government scholarship Program is for Indonesian students who want to study for a Master’s or PhD in Korea. Through the Embassy Track of the General Program 34 Indonesian students will be chosen. They will get the chance to study at top Korean universities. The scholarship covers all costs including tuition, travel and living expenses.

Document Submission Rules

First Submission

  • Send one original set of application forms and academic certificates.
  • Include one original recommendation letter.
  • Plain photocopies are accepted for embassy-track applicants. No notarization needed yet.

After Shortlisting

  • Shortlisted candidates must submit consular-authenticated or apostilled documents.
  • The embassy can make extra copies if required.

Translation Rules

  • Non-English/Korean documents need full translations in either language.
  • Include a copy of the original document with translations.

Formatting Rules

  • Attach small documents to blank A4 sheets.
  • Fold or resize larger papers to fit A4 size.

Eligibility Requirements 2026

University Selection

  • Choose three different universities from the approved list in Section III of guidelines.
  • At least one must be from Type B institutions.
  • Select only eligible fields of study.

Educational Background

  • Must completed Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree by July 31, 2026.
  • If still studying submit an expected graduation certificate.
  • Final transcripts must be submitted by July 31, 2026.

Age Limit

  • Must be under 40 years old by September 1, 2025.
  • Birth date must be after September 1, 1985.

Citizenship Rules

  • Both applicant and parents must not hold Korean citizenship at application time

Academic Performance

Must meet one of these requirements:

  • GPA 2.64+/4.0
  • GPA 2.80+/4.3
  • GPA 2.91+/4.5
  • GPA 3.23+/5.0
    OR
  • Rank in top 20% of class
    OR
  • Score 80% or above on 100-point scale

Language Requirements

  • Only TOEFL or IELTS scores accepted for English proof

Application Deadline

All applications must be submitted by February 29, 2026. Late applications will not be considered.
