The Global Korea Scholarship for 2026 (GKS/KGSP) lets international students study at top universities in South Korea. You can study almost any subject. But it does not include night classes or short courses. Online programs are not included either. Applicants must select their university and department from the official list published on the Study in Korea website.
Key Points
- Covers a wide range of study fields.
- Not valid for evening, online, or short-term programs.
- Students must select only from the official list of universities and departments.
- Available for both undergraduate and graduate programs depending on the track.
Available Fields of Study
The GKS Scholarship supports almost all areas of study offered at participating universities.
Not included:
- Evening or night-school programs
- Distance or online courses
- Short-term programs
Always confirm that your chosen department is part of the official GKS list before applying.
Participating Universities
There are many universities across South Korea which are part of the GKS program (KGSP). The full list of universities is shared every year in the official University Information file under the GKS notice on the Study in Korea website.
This document includes:
- Eligible universities
- Available programs and departments
- Admission guidelines for each institution
Important Note for Applicants
Many students are rejected because they apply to universities not listed in the official file. To avoid this mistake:
Go to www.studyinkorea.go.kr
Click Plan Your Studies → GKS Notice
Download the latest University Information file
Choose only from the listed universities and departments
Why This Matters
The GKS program is highly competitive. Choosing the correct university and department ensures your application is valid and increases your chances of selection.
