Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Monash University Scholarship students must meet these rules:
- Must be applying for a master or doctoral research program at Monash University.
- Must be an international student or a citizen of Australia or New Zealand or a permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder.
- Must provide proof of English language skills. For general programs IELTS 6.5 overall with no band less than 6.0 or TOEFL 79 with minimum scores in each section. For arts, business and economics programs IELTS 7 overall with no band less than 6.5 or TOEFL 94 with minimum scores in each section.
- Must have a bachelor degree requiring at least four years of full time study in a relevant field with research component in the final year leading to honours 1 or 2A.
- Or must have a course rated as equivalent to honours 1 or 2A in a relevant field.
- Or must have a master degree with significant research component including thesis or project with grade of honours 2A or equivalent.
- Must have qualifications deemed equivalent by the Graduate Research Committee.
- Scholarships are awarded based on academic record, research output and prior research experience.
- Must not have previously held an Australian Government or Monash funded postgraduate research award for more than six months.
