Eligibility Requirements
Nationality
Applicants and their parents must not hold Korean citizenship.
Age Criteria
- Haiti and Commonwealth of Dominica: Applicants must be under 45 years old (born after September 1, 1979).
- Bahamas, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Kitts and Nevis: Applicants must be under 40 years old (born after September 1, 1984).
Academic Qualifications
- Master’s Program: Applicants must hold or be expecting a Bachelor’s degree by July 31, 2025.
- Doctoral Program: Applicants must hold or be expecting a Master’s degree by July 31, 2025.
Preferences
- Applicants with certified TOPIK scores (Korean language proficiency) may receive priority.
- Descendants of Korean War veterans earn an additional 5% during selection reviews.
- Preference may be given to applicants specializing in Natural Sciences or Engineering.
Minimum Grade Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following equivalent GPA thresholds:
- 2.64 (on a 4.0 scale)
- 2.80 (on a 4.3 scale)
- 2.91 (on a 4.5 scale)
- 3.23 (on a 5.0 scale)
Degree Programs Offered
Master’s Program
- Duration: 3 years
- Includes a 1-year Korean language course and 2 years of academic study.
Doctoral Program
- Duration: 4 years
- Includes a 1-year Korean language course and 3 years of research and coursework.

University Restrictions
Non-Eligible Universities
Due to a lack of certification for internationalization capacity by Korea’s Ministry of Education, Soonchunhyang University and Changwon National University are not eligible for applications under the 2025 (KGSP) GKS-G scholarship.
