KGSP 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
- Applicants need to be citizens of the countries picked by NIIED for the GKS program. This scholarship is for students from 105 ODA recipient countries. Some of these countries are:

Level of Education:
Students in their final year who will graduate by July 31 2024 can also apply. But they must give a certificate that shows their expected graduation. They must also give their final academic transcript and official graduation certificate by July 31 2024. If they do not give these papers then they will lose their acceptance.

Academic Grades:
Applicants must meet one of these academic needs:
- Have a CGPA of 80 percent or above on a 100-point scale.
- Be in the top 20 percent of their class.
- Have a CGPA of at least 2.64 out of 4.0, 2.80 out of 4.3, 2.91 out of 4.5, or 3.23 out of 5.0.
Age:
Applicants must be under 40 years old born after September 1 1984. Academic professors from ODA recipient countries can apply if they are under 45 years old born after September 1 1979.
Health Condition:
All applicants must be in good physical and mental health to finish their studies in Korea.
Important Information
Multiple/Duplicate Submissions
- Candidates who made it through the first round of the Embassy track are not eligible to reapply through the University track.
- Only one program may be applied to by applicants on the Embassy track (General, Overseas Korean, International Reconstruction Talent).
- Only one program (General, R-GKS, International Reconstruction Talent, Global Network, R&D, Research) may be applied to by university track applicants.
- Candidates on the university track may only apply to one department per university.
- Submissions that are duplicates will not be taken into account. Even after the evaluation, the scholarship will be revoked if it is discovered later.
Additional Requirements
- Verify each university’s additional requirements or eligibility.
- Check each department’s or university’s further eligibility requirements.
- To proceed with their degree program, all GKS scholars must earn TOPIK level 3 (certain departments may require TOPIK level 4).
